Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist.  Information about your care cannot be disclosed without your written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Information mandated by court order.
  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. I am required by law to report these concerns to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I will notify law enforcement and attempt to inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm self, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. However, if an individual is unable or unwilling to cooperate with appropriate treatment recommendations, additional measures may need to be taken, including involuntary commitment.
